CASology week 251: MEDICINE

(sigh)  I am a bit behind posting a few cards as I have been lounging around, poolside, with my gorgeous husband celebrating our 1 year anniversary.  The (sigh) is because I am no longer lounging, poolside, with my gorgeous husband.  Good things must come to an end.

The cool thing about living in Phoenix is that it is very, very hot here in the summer.  Like it was way over 100 degrees today.  And noone wants to visit in that heat.  So hotels offer awesome "staycation" deals and the hubs and I took advantage of staying at a luxury resort for $100 a night.  You heard me right.  Hence the (sigh).

Back to business.  I made this card for the CASology week 251 Challenge: MEDICINE.


Let me tell you, this card is the exact reason why I do these challenges.  I love how this card came out. Love it.  Can't wait for someone to get sick so I can give it to them. (Just Kidding!) (not really).  I am not naturally a CAS kind of gal and this challenge forces me to take it down a notch sista.  I love participating in this challenge.

Enough chatter. Here is the details.  I used MFT stamps "The Whole Herd" for the piggy and the Sentiment.  I stamped both in Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink as I was unsure if I would be painting or coloring.

Coloring won out and I used my Spectrum Noir markers in PP5, PP3, and PP1.  I also used some white gel pen for the highlights.

I cut my 110 lb cardstock with a scalloped edge as i wanted juuuust a bit something extra and attached to my card base.  No foam tape this time.  Not sure if next time I will prop it, but I was in a super big hurry to leave for vacation.

Ah, your poolside time sounds heavenly. Sigh. This card? Totally adorable! I alsmost wish I was sick so you would send it to me! (I'll let you know.) I love your cute piglet and the white highlights! Thanks for joining us at CASology!

Hi there! If all of a sudden this post just stops mid sentence it is because my computer died.  Its almost there man!  Any day now... I am here today with this card I made last night... Lawn Fawnatics and A Blog Named Hero Challenges

Hey everyone.  Well, I am very lucky as my October Monthly Hero Arts kit came just in time!  I wanted to use the dies on a tag I was making for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge.  I kept it un-assembled until I received my package yesterday.   This tag is being entered into the  Lawnfawnatics Challenge 14 : Happy Critters  and the  A Blog Named Hero - Calling all Critters .  The Blog Named Hero Challenge is using both Hero Arts and Lawn Fawn products.  I expect to enter more as the October kit and Lawn Fawn play very nicely together! I used Toboggan together set and colored it with Spectrum Noir pens.  I made the background out of the mountain range die from the October HA kit.  I used Bristol Smooth paper and first inked it with DO Iced Spruce and Salty Ocean.  I cut it then used the mountain range stamp with white pigment HA ink to stamp some detail.  I also inked the edges of the range with the ink.  I...

Casology Week 247: Flow

Hey there, Stefanie here...back for some more challenge cards.  I was lucky enough to craft all day and I have a ton of cards to share.  I think I will just do a few more today, then update the blog more tomorrow.   I am trying to grow as a card designer and my favorite challenge that pulls me OUT of my comfort zone is the CASology challenge.    Here is my entry for the CASology Week 247 Challenge - keyword is Flow.   This may be one of the favorite cards I have made this weekend.  Here are the details: I started using the ink cubes I got with my Hero Arts May kit, Deep Blue and Aqua.  I blended them onto a piece of 110 lb white paper.  I seriously love this ink.  I am really excited to actually stamp with it, but today I just blended it.  I saw a video from Jennifer McGuire a few days ago in which she said that Hero Arts inks have a special quality.  You can put Versamark on them and ...
