Winnie & Walter June Color Combo Challenge - Card 1

So, I'm clicking around IG and I see that Winnie & Walter has a new release coming this week.  I go to their blog to see what is coming up, and for the first time I see.....They have a challenge Blog!  With Multiple Challenges.  So exciting for me.  I happen to LOVE W &W, but I have a slight problem.  My wishlist includes almost everything they make. Definately EVERY cutaway.  I love their BIG words.  So, I need to have some $$ help with my Winnie & Walter craft addiction.  What better way than to join a challenge...Do my best and hope for the best.

My first card is for the June Color Combo Challenge. 



This card is for my son Aidan who LOVES this stamp. Its the "Do You See What I See" Mini Scenery stamp.  Loves it.  Every time I use it he tells me how I can use it better.  So cute. And frustrating. 

In order to follow the rules, I got out the same 4 Distress Inks that Heather used:
Mowed Grass, Mustard Seed, Salty Ocean, and Worn Lipstick.  I rubbed them on an acrylic block and spritzed with water and let sit while I cut a piece of 140 lb watercolor paper down. I stamped the Do You See What I See stamp with Versamark and embossed with Hero Arts Black Sparkly Embossing Powder.  I wanted strong lines.

I watercolored with the Distress inks.  As the panel dried I took the Worn lipstick and blended it on some 110 pound cardstock.  I took the die from Concord & 9th (believe me, if I had my way it would have been a W&W big die cutaway) and cut the word 3 times.  I glued them together with Ranger Medium Matte glue.  I glued the sentiment onto my main panel and mounted on a piece of salty ocean watercolored paper.  I mounted on a top folding card base.

Lawn Fawnatics and A Blog Named Hero Challenges

Hey everyone.  Well, I am very lucky as my October Monthly Hero Arts kit came just in time!  I wanted to use the dies on a tag I was making for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge.  I kept it un-assembled until I received my package yesterday.   This tag is being entered into the  Lawnfawnatics Challenge 14 : Happy Critters  and the  A Blog Named Hero - Calling all Critters .  The Blog Named Hero Challenge is using both Hero Arts and Lawn Fawn products.  I expect to enter more as the October kit and Lawn Fawn play very nicely together! I used Toboggan together set and colored it with Spectrum Noir pens.  I made the background out of the mountain range die from the October HA kit.  I used Bristol Smooth paper and first inked it with DO Iced Spruce and Salty Ocean.  I cut it then used the mountain range stamp with white pigment HA ink to stamp some detail.  I also inked the edges of the range with the ink.  I embossed it all with sparkly EP for some shine.  I also stamped some snow

SSS Monday Challenge: Make your own Background

Happy Sunday! Just popping in with my card for the  SSS Monday Challenge: Make your own background .  I had the pleasure of making a simple Thank You card for a friend. I painted the card with layers of watercolored Indigo, attempting to make it look as the card was dipped. I cut 4 Lawn Fawn “Thanks” from 110 lb white paper and glued them together so they would pop. I finished it off with a few water droplets from Studio Katia.  Thanks for stopping by!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 20- Fun with Food !

Happy New Year!!! So, this year I have resolved to blog on a regular basis. I am currently scouring the internet for a blog planner. Any assistance is much appreciated! Today I am showing you my entry into   Lawnfawnatics Challenge 20 :  Fun with food!! I think Lawn Fawn has the best food stamps, and I was lucky to get “Baked with Love” stamp set for Christmas.  I am also entering this into the  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge : A Spot of Blue. This is a birthday card for hubby as he likes CAS cards.  Also, this is the very first card I used masking on! Santa forgot the coordinating dies and I was forced to try masking. Which is also on my 2018 list of crafty things to try.   I stamped the images with Simon says Stamp black ink and colored with Copics and Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
