Casology Week 247: Flow

Hey there, Stefanie here...back for some more challenge cards.  I was lucky enough to craft all day and I have a ton of cards to share.  I think I will just do a few more today, then update the blog more tomorrow.

I am trying to grow as a card designer and my favorite challenge that pulls me OUT of my comfort zone is the CASology challenge.    Here is my entry for the CASology Week 247 Challenge - keyword is Flow.

This may be one of the favorite cards I have made this weekend.  Here are the details:

I started using the ink cubes I got with my Hero Arts May kit, Deep Blue and Aqua.  I blended them onto a piece of 110 lb white paper.

I seriously love this ink.  I am really excited to actually stamp with it, but today I just blended it.  I saw a video from Jennifer McGuire a few days ago in which she said that Hero Arts inks have a special quality.  You can put Versamark on them and heat dry and it will produce a special effect. Challenge on!

So, I put the awesome wave stencil that came in my May Hero Arts kit on top of my blended paper and took a cosmetic sponge and smooshed VersaMark into the panel.  I got a little blue ink on my VersaMark pad, but all in all, not too bad.  Then I heat set the embossing ink and look!  Magic! This totally says "Flow" to me!

I cut a circle out of the panel using my stitched circle die.  Also, I stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts, "an ocean of thanks".   I glued the circle onto the top folding card.  I hardly ever make a one-layer card, I'm so proud of myself!

Here is the finished product again,  I really like this Thank you card, I feel like it is more masculine than some of my cards.

Thanks for reading!
